While we do have more sunshine than most states all year round, it's still important to be prepared for when those winter storms do hit! Make sure you've got your vehicle ready by following these steps:
- Get an oil change
- Replace tires with snow tires (or get tires rotated and tread checked)
- Test hoses and belts
- Replace wiper blades
- Choose wiper fluid that repels snow/water
- Check all fluid levels
- Get a basic tune-up
- Test defroster and heater
- Make sure your 4-wheel drive is ready for action
- Keep your gas tank at least half full
- Pack a winter safety kit (flashlight, food, bottled water, gloves, extra socks, hand/foot warmers, extra coat, blanket, first aid kit)
- Check your battery and make sure you've got your jumper cables
